Internationally, I have long supported search-and-rescue dogs and working-dog welfare, including making donations to organizations dedicated to search-and-rescue dog programs.
在國際上，我長期關注並支持搜救犬與工作犬福利，也曾實際捐款支持致力於搜救犬相關工作的組織。
During my years in the corporate sector, I also consistently encouraged companies to pay greater attention to search-and-rescue dogs and to devote more resources to their training, welfare, protection, and retirement care.
過去在企業工作的這些年，我也持續鼓勵企業更加重視搜救犬，投入更多資源於牠們的訓練、福利、保護，以及退役後的照護。
In Taiwan, however, it has not always been easy to bring sustained and institutional attention to these issues.
然而在台灣，要讓這些議題獲得長期且制度性的重視，並不總是容易。
That is why the Wilson case matters so deeply to me.
這也是為什麼，Wilson 事件對我而言如此重要。
If the judicial investigation and professional forensic examination ultimately establish that a search-and-rescue dog in Taiwan was deliberately abused—particularly if such abuse caused serious injury or death—I would find it profoundly difficult to accept.
如果最終司法調查與專業鑑識證實，台灣真的有搜救犬遭到蓄意虐待——尤其如果虐待造成嚴重傷害，甚至死亡——我真的會非常難以接受。
Search-and-rescue dogs are not tools.
搜救犬不是工具。
They undergo extensive training and enter disaster zones where humans may be unable to go, searching for people who may still be alive. They serve alongside us, take risks for us, and help save human lives.
牠們接受長期而專業的訓練，在災難發生時，進入人類可能無法進入的地方，尋找那些可能仍然活著的人。牠們與我們並肩工作、承擔風險，也協助拯救一條又一條的人命。
The very least we owe them is protection, dignity, and humane treatment.
而我們最基本應該給予牠們的，是保護、尊嚴，以及符合人道的對待。
We must allow the investigation to proceed, respect the evidence, uphold due process, and avoid presuming anyone's guilt before the facts are established.
我們必須讓調查繼續進行，尊重證據、正當法律程序與無罪推定。在事實被確認以前，不應預設任何人的罪責。
But if the evidence ultimately proves that Wilson was subjected to treatment that no search-and-rescue dog—or any animal—should ever have to endure,

I do not know how angry I will be.
But I do know this: I will not remain silent.
